Well, since receiving my Xbox back from its nearly scheduled RROD and having a lot of down time recently, rather then writing on this blog being semi productive. I’ve become an achievement whore. The tell tale sign of an achievement whore is when a Xbox game goes out and rents TMNT or Avatar to get a quick 1000 gamer points.

Though is there anything wrong in being a gamer whore? I think that having achievement points actually encourages you to get more out of the game. I finished GTA IV a long time ago, but recently I picked it up again and have slowly been trudging through the other achievements like being friends with characters, races and vigilante missions.

I’m also trying new games; I rented out Viva Piñata out of curiosity and have become surprisingly addicted. One of my friends owned the game and told me it was surprisingly good so I decided to take him on his word and rent it. If you haven’t had the joy of playing this game yet, I do recommend you try it out. Especially now that the sequel, Viva Piñata – Trouble in paradise, has been announced.

As the game is open ended you can take your time and if you make a mistake here or there rather than restart a garden you can sell up your buildings and piñatas and start anew. I got up to level 15 and decided my design was cluttered so I sold all my buildings, plants, piñatas and accessories. Filled in my ponds and seeded the ground, then with 30,000 coins in the bank re-landscaped my garden, planted and built the desired buildings with my game plan written in front of me.

So for some of your own records I have listed the evolution and Flutterscotch hints:

Evolved Species

-         Candary: Have a Sparrowmint eat a buttercup flower and it will change into a Candary

-         Juicy Goose: Have your Qauckberry eat a Gooseberry and it will evolve into a Juicy Goose. (Note: Juicy Geese are a little hostile at the best of times)

-         Lackatoad: Direct your Lickatoad to eat a nightshade fruit then equip your shovel and TAP (not whack) it on the head. You need to tap it on the head before it becomes poisoned

-         Pigxie: You have to cross romance a Swanana and a Rashberry. Make sure have purchased and built the mystery house before trying to romance them

-         Rodhott: Select a Taffly and direct it to a torch. Once it flies through, it will catch on fire. Pour water on it the Taffly when it lands and it will become a Redhott.

-         Salamango: Have your Newtgat eat a chilli and it will change to a Salamango

-         Zumbug: Direct your Horstachio to eat both a Blackberry and a Daisy Flower and it will become a Zumbug.

-         Twingersnap: Romance two Syrupants. Watch the egg that follows and right before it hatches it will bounce three times. On the third bounce, hit it with your shovel. Make sure you only count the huge bounces and not the hops.

-         Fourheads: Romance two Twingersnaps. Watch the egg that follows and right before it hatches it will bounce three times. On the third bounce, hit it with your shovel. Make sure you only count the huge bounces and not the hops

Flutterscotch Spieces

There are 7 different Flutterscotch spieces. The first that will fly into your garden is the White flutter scotch. It is best to rename these two so you can identify them as they will be very busy in the bedroom. Once you have had them both eat an apple and built a Flutterscotch house, they are ready to get down.

After you have romanced them the first time, just buy the romance candy (Costs 6 coins at the market) and have them eat that. They will only be able to eat romance candy once they have already been romanced, thus the reason why you named the two.

Below is a list of what you will need to offspring to eat to change colour:

Red Flutterscotch – Have a White Flutterscotch eat a poppy flower.
Green Flutterscotch – Have a White Flutterscotch eat a watercress flower.
Blue Flutterscotch – Have a White Flutterscotch eat a bluebell flower.
Pink Flutterscotch – Have a White Flutterscotch eat a water lily flower.
Black Flutterscotch – Have a White Flutterscotch eat a tulip flower.
Brown Flutterscotch – Have a White Flutterscotch eat a bullrush.
Yellow Flutterscotch – Have a White Flutterscotch eat a buttercup flower.
Orange Flutterscotch – Have a White Flutterscotch eat a bird of paradise flower.
Purple Flutterscotch – Have a White Flutterscotch eat a thistle flower.

If you are looking to be a Master Romancer it is best to change the species of two Flutterscotches and have them romance as well. This will have you using very little resources to get a lot of piñatas. The Flutterscotches have relatively little enemies, except the green which Lickatoads will like to eat.

Once you have changed them to all the above species you can keep them about or if you want sell them off for a nice little profit.

Enjoy.
